Busy Times

Wow, what a busy couple of days

Lets start earlier this week.

We installed a new application for video conferencing. This is a fantastic system called Sightspeed. We did some local testing and finally was able to do a real call test on thursday morning with Luda from RIDBC.

Wednesday afternoon

One of my clients thru work dropped off a beautiful little shirt for Caitlyn to wear. Their website is Just Being. This website will be available shortly as they are still developing it. I will post images of the shirt shortly for all to see

Thursday Morning First Thing

A rather suprising package arrived this morning from Haldey School for the Blind in the US. They sent us out a Braille Punch board for us to learn and practice braille. This was a fantastic thing to receive and we will definately be starting to practice braille in the next few days. I do have a friend/co-worker who will be able to check that we are doing the braille correctly. We are also looking into purchasing a braille printer in the future for Caitlyn. This may be something we will need to do some fund raising for as they appear to be about $3000-$4000 including the software.

Thursday Morning 9:30am EST

Received and tested our first call from Luda at RIDBC on the Sightspeed system. The quality is like nothing i have seen before in a simple video conference. I would really recommend anyone who is looking for a good video system get a hold of Sightspeed.

We are attempting to purchase a Braille Writer to hook into our computer. This is approx $4000 total purchase. Any assistance will be greatly accepted.
