Been a few days since i posted anything. There has been quite a few small things that have happened in this time so i thought i would put them together into one.

Caitlyn's mum received a call from RIDBC on friday getting us to start and prepare for a Webcam chat some time this week. Needless to say now i have to make sure the webcam works (plugging it in certainly helps)

On another note. Caitlyn is really wanting to sit up all the time and look around. We have noticed that she is able to follow objects around. We believe that she may have some level of vision (although probably next to nothing). It is quite possible from reading in other places that she could have the ability to see blobs of color etc. This could be what she is watching is the blob of color movig around.

We have also been doing research into what possible future technology there is. We did find a few possiblities - such as bionic implants. They work by attaching a "transponder" onto the nerve endings in the eye and then running leads out to a camera fitted onto glasses. They believe that commercial production of these could start as early as 2009.

Another possibly future medical advancement is with Stem Cell Research. I could not find much information other than people are already starting to investigate these options.
