Taxi Drivers - AGAIN

This is the link ABC NEWS to a news story regarding a Taxi Company in Adelaide who refused entry to a taxi due to a guide dog.

Yet again this amazes me as I was under the impression that Guide Dogs have the legal right to go virtually anywhere apart from a Kitchen. The Taxi company even offered him $27000 to withdraw the complaint and go away.

This is discrimination and really should be stamped out.

Two services Available.

Met up with some lovely people who have a working guide dog. They told us something we had no idea about. Obviously a lot of people don't.

There is actually several organising that train dogs to become guide dogs (or seeing eye dogs).

There is obviously Guide Dogs Australia and there is also Seeing Eye Dogs Australia

I really think that this should become a lot more publicised as it is a very poorly known fact that they both provide a fantastic service.

Meeting Others affected

Been an interesting weekend. We have met up with a fantastic couple who are starting up a group to support vision impaired persons.

In the future i will post information regarding this group so that others are able to look into visiting.

I have also been looking into what information is available from RIDBC. They have quite a vast online presence that has information relating to vision and hearing impaired persons.
